Heater core — removal and installation

Coolant Hose Clamp Remover/Installer 303-397 (24-003)

Removal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Section 303-03 for additional information.

2. Using a special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses from the heater core.



3. Lower the vehicle.

4. Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to Section 501-12.

5. Remove the rear footwell vents.



6. Remove the lower footwell trim panel.




7. Open the glove compartment.

8. Remove the footwell vent duct. Disconnect the hose.



9. Close the glove compartment.

10. Remove the footwell trim panel.

• Remove the left and right mounting screws (right side shown).

11. Remove the accelerator pedal. Disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the seat when removing the clip.

Disconnect the rear steel clamp.



13. Remove the left and right inner cross member bracket (right side shown).



14. Remove the heater core air duct housing.



15. Remove the heater housing.




16. Remove the heater core mounting bolt.



17. Remove the heater core.

Installation

1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
