Removal
1. Remove the driver air bag module. Refer to Section 501-20A / 501-20B for additional information.

WARNING: The air bag module should be inverted only long enough to remove the contact plate. Use extreme caution when performing this procedure, ensuring that if the procedure is interrupted for any reason, the air bag module is turned right side up with the trim cover facing up. Failure to follow these instructions may increase the possibility of premature air bag deployment and result in injury.
Disconnect the left and right electrical connectors from the contact plate.
- Release the retaining tabs located on the back of each connector.

3. Remove the contact plate.
- 1. Remove four wedges.
NOTE: The contact plate holds the four horn contact plate springs in position. Note their position and installation pattern before removing the contact plate.
- 2. Remove the contact plate.

Installation
1.
CAUTION: Before installing the contact plate, make sure the horn contact plate springs are properly secured to the rear of the air bag module.
To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
