Instrument cluster (Duratec ST 2.0 l) — removal and installation

Removal

NOTE: When installing a new instrument cluster, connect the WDS. Download the instrument cluster configuration information using the programmable module installer before removing the instrument cluster.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Section 414-01 for additional information.

2. Disconnect the instrument cluster socket (the steering wheel is not shown).

• Remove the mounting screws and detach the mounting clamps.

3. Remove the instrument cluster socket.

• Disconnect the rear tailgate release switch electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the instrument panel.



5. Disconnect the electrical connector of the instrument panel illumination.

CAUTION: The instrument panel must be kept in an upright position to prevent silicone fluid from leaking out of the instruments.

Remove the instrument panel.

• 1. Release the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the instrument cluster electrical connector.

Installation

NOTE: When installing a new instrument cluster, connect WDS. Download the instrument cluster configuration information using the programmable module installer after installing the instrument cluster.

1. Install all elements back in place in reverse order.
