Front seat cushion — removal and installation

Removal

All cars

1. Remove the front seat. For more information, refer to the Front Seat chapter in this section.

2. Remove the compact disc (CD) changer (if equipped). For additional information, refer to Section 415-01.

Cars produced before 08/2001.

3. Disconnect the seat belt buckle tensioner electrical connector from the rear of the seat.

• 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, press the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

NOTE: On vehicles with heated front seats, the seat cushion heater mat wiring harness runs along the seat belt buckle pretensioner wiring harness.

Disconnect the seat cushion heater mat electrical connector from the rear of the seat (if equipped).

• 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, press the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

NOTE: On vehicles with power front seats, the seat height adjustment motor wiring harness runs along the seat belt buckle pretensioner wiring harness.

Disconnect the seat height adjustment motor electrical connector from the rear of the seat (if equipped).

• 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, press the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

Cars produced since 08/2001.

6. Disconnect the seat belt buckle tensioner electrical connector from the rear of the seat.

• 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, press the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

NOTE: On vehicles with heated front seats, the seat cushion heater mat wiring harness runs along the seat belt buckle pretensioner wiring harness.

Disconnect the seat cushion heater mat electrical connector from the rear of the seat (if equipped).

• 1. Use a suitable screwdriver.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with heated front seats, the seat height adjustment motor wiring harness runs along the seat belt buckle pretensioner wiring harness.

Disconnect the seat height adjustment motor electrical connector from the rear of the seat (if equipped).

• 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, press the locking tab.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
• 3. Disconnect the mounting clamps.

All cars

9. Remove the CD changer unit support brackets (if equipped).

• Drill out the rivets.

10. Remove the front seat cushion.

Installation

1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
