Luggage compartment lift door lock cylinder (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the rear liftgate latch. For more information, refer to the Rear Liftgate Latch chapter in this section.

2. File down the rear liftgate lock cylinder housing to expose the spring and plunger.



3. Remove the spring and plunger. Discard the spring.



4. Remove the rear tailgate lock cylinder.

Installation

1. Using an M6 tap, cut threads in the lock cylinder body.



2. Install the rear tailgate lock cylinder.



3. Install the plunger.

NOTE: Apply Loctite to the top two threads under the screw head.

To secure the plunger, screw in an M6x6.5 mm screw.



5. Install the rear tailgate latch.



6. Install the rear liftgate latch electrical connector.





7. Install the rear tailgate trim panel.
