Front bumper cover — removal and installation (Focus 1)

Removal

All cars

1. Remove the radiator air deflector.



2. Remove the radiator grille.



3. Remove the headlight washers on both sides (if equipped).

• 1. To access the clip, pull the headlight washer forward.
• 2. Using the appropriate screwdriver, release the clamp.

4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.



5. Disconnect the mudguards from the bumper trim on both sides.



6. Separate the bumper trim from the fenders on both sides.



Cars manufactured up to 10.2001.

7. Disconnect the turn signal plug connectors on both sides.



All cars

8. Disconnect the fog light/light connectors on both sides (if equipped).



9. Lower the vehicle.

CAUTION: To prevent damage, cover the bumper trim with a soft cloth.

Release the bumper trim retaining clips.



11. Remove the bumper trim.

• 1. Lower the bumper trim.
• 2. Disconnect the bumper trim from the radiator splash guard.

Installation

1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
