Ignition lock cylinder — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. See Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Remove the bottom section of the instrument panel.

• 1. Remove the screws.
• 2. Release the clip.

3. Disconnect the top casing of a steering column.

• Release two clamps (one on each side) using a fine tip screwdriver.

4. Remove the audio control switch (in the presence of).

• 1. Release the locking tab with a fine-tip screwdriver.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

5. Remove the lower casing of a steering column.

• 1. Release the steering column lock lever.
• 2. Remove the screws.
• Remove the ignition key.

6. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.

• 1. Insert the ignition key and turn it to position I (ACC).
• 2. Press the latch with a fine tip screwdriver.
• 3. Remove the lock cylinder.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
