Replacing the throttle cable (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

The connection between the gas pedal and the throttle valve in Focus diesel engines is provided by an "electric cable", the technical term is "drive-by-wire". All Focus models with petrol engines use a mechanical cable. In itself, an inconspicuous detail, but if the throttle cables are not perfectly routed in the engine compartment, they can be irritating. For example, when they move reluctantly and the gas pedal has a heavy stroke because of this: in an extreme case, the engine howls with each gear change, because the throttle return spring is too overloaded due to the heavy stroke of the cable. If you are familiar with these symptoms, check the hidden routing of the throttle cable and lubricate it with a few drops of oil in all turning mechanisms - immediately after washing the engine.
