Absolutely normal — low oil consumption (Focus Turnier 1)

Every engine uses a little oil. Some of it gets into the combustion chamber and is burned there. A leaky engine, worn valve stem gaskets, worn oil scraper rings, too large clearances between the pistons and cylinder running surfaces or too large a clearance between the valve guide and the valve stem significantly increase the normal oil consumption. If your Focus engine is technically in good order, you should only add a small amount (0.25-0.5 l) during the prescribed oil change intervals.

Diesel engines are no exception, but only if you change the oil regularly and do not overload the engine with too much driving.

Blue exhaust plume is a visible sign of wear

By the blue exhaust plume you can identify one of the above-mentioned defects. But even if the oil level regularly remains constant, this is also no reason to rejoice: in this case, excess fuel and water condensate dilute the engine oil, its lubricating qualities weaken. This phenomenon is observed primarily in winter and mainly when driving short distances - for a long time, the engine rarely reaches operating temperature and cannot burn off the sediment. In such cases, you need to change the oil more often, for example after 6,000 km or after six months.
