Safety instructions for working on the ignition system (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

The legislator classifies the ignition system as dangerous equipment. Therefore, you must take special safety precautions when working on the ignition system. For example, pacemakers can malfunction when working on the ignition system. To be sure that you are not exposed to danger, it is better to entrust work on the electronic ignition system to your Ford workshop. But you must also take special care when performing maintenance work.

When the ignition is on, do not under any circumstances touch the conductive parts of the primary and secondary windings - this is life-threatening.

Always switch off the ignition when performing any maintenance work. This applies equally to replacing spark plugs, connecting and disconnecting electrical wires or connecting control instruments.

With the ignition on, shaking the car is enough to cause a high voltage pulse. In this case, you are in danger under the hood of the car, in addition, the ignition system components may be destroyed.

When performing electric welding work on your Focus, always disconnect both battery terminals first.
