Ignition coil resistance measurement

Reliable measurement requires a functioning motor control. In high-voltage ignition systems, the primary resistance can also be checked with a multimeter in test mode.

Switch off the ignition.

Disconnect the ignition wires at the ignition module.

Primary Resistance Check

Disconnect the multi-pin connector.

Connect an ohmmeter alternately to terminals 1 and 2, and to 3 and 2.

Target measured values

Both measured values must be between 0.4 and 0.6 ohm. Otherwise, replace the ignition module.
