Measuring the resistance on the ignition coil

The measurement assumes the proper functioning of the engine management system. With the help of a multimeter in high voltage ignition systems, it is also possible to check the primary resistance in the control mode (W resistance).

PROCEDURE

Switch off the ignition. Disconnect the ignition wire from the ignition module. Primary resistance test: Disconnect the multi-pin plug. Connect an ohmmeter in series to terminals 1 and 2 and 3 and 2. Required value: 0.4 - 0.6 W. Conclusions of the multi-pin connector.
