With the help of an assistant, no problem — checking the pressure sensor (Mondeo 3)

ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Disconnect the hose from the pressure sensor and cover the hole with the tip of your finger.
  2. Have your assistant start the engine and bring it up to medium speed (about 2000 rpm).
  3. Reconnect the hose to the sensor at a constant RPM.
  4. Since the sensor is again under pressure, the ignition timing adjustment of the control unit should work. With the same position of the gas pedal, the engine rotates significantly faster.
  5. However, if the speed remains constant, this means that the low-pressure hose is leaky or the pressure sensor is defective. The engine notes this fact by a decrease in power and poor exhaust gas parameters.
