If a defect is suspected in the preheating system of your diesel engine, then proceed as follows:
PROCEDURE |
- Check the fuses in the engine electrics.
- Is the main fuse OK? (connector 1) onboard power supply?
- If there is no trouble here, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the glow plugs.
- It should be at least 11.5 volts, if not, replace the spark plugs.
- To do this, disconnect the wire from one of the four glow plugs.
- Connect a test lamp between ground and the appropriate connecting wire.
- Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor plug and store in a safe place.
- Set the ignition key to position «Preheat».
- If the test lamp stays on for 20 seconds, the glow plugs are energized and the control device's warm-up time is correct.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, check the main fuse or preheat relay.
- If the glow time is not reached, look for a fault in the control unit.
