If there is a suspected defect in the preheating system of your diesel engine, you should proceed as follows:

- Check the fuses in the engine electrical system.
- Is the main fuse (connector 1) of the on-board power supply OK?
- If there is no problem here, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the glow plugs.
- It should be at least 11.5 volts, if not, replace the spark plugs.
- To do this, disconnect the wire from one of the four glow plugs.
- Connect a test lamp between the ground and the appropriate connecting wire.
- Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor plug and store in a safe place.
- Set the ignition key to the "Preheat" position.
- If the indicator lamp lights for 20 seconds, voltage is present at the glow plugs and the warm-up time set by the control unit is correct.
- If the indicator lamp does not come on, check the main fuse or preheat relay.
- If the glow time is not reached, look for a fault in the control unit.
