If a defect is suspected in the preheating system of your diesel engine, then proceed as follows:

PROCEDURE
  1. Check the fuses in the engine electrics.
  2. Is the main fuse OK? (connector 1) onboard power supply?
  3. If there is no trouble here, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the glow plugs.
  4. It should be at least 11.5 volts, if not, replace the spark plugs.
  5. To do this, disconnect the wire from one of the four glow plugs.
  6. Connect a test lamp between ground and the appropriate connecting wire.
  7. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor plug and store in a safe place.
  8. Set the ignition key to position «Preheat».
  9. If the test lamp stays on for 20 seconds, the glow plugs are energized and the control device's warm-up time is correct.
  10. If the test lamp does not illuminate, check the main fuse or preheat relay.
  11. If the glow time is not reached, look for a fault in the control unit.
