Removing and installing kick-down cable

Removal and installation

1. Disconnect the gear reduction cable from the carburetor lever and remove the sheath from the holder.

2. Disconnect the gear reduction cable from the gear reduction lever at the gearbox.

3. Unscrew the locknut and remove the cable sheath from the holder.

4. Remove the gear reduction cable together with the sheath.

5. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Adjustment

1. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down and check that the throttle in the carburetor is fully open.

2. Move the gear lever of the automatic transmission.

3. Shorten or lengthen the cable so as to obtain a gap of 0.8–1.0 mm between the carburetor axle cam and the gear reduction cable lever.
