Removal
1. Remove the rear wheel cover and loosen the wheel nuts.
2. Raise and secure the rear of the vehicle and remove the corresponding rear wheel.
3. Remove the brake drum (see subsection 10.3).
4. Disconnect the axle shaft from the suspension arm (see subsection 7.11.1).
5. Disconnect the brake hose (without unscrewing it) from the holder under the floor after removing the U-shaped retainer.
6. Place a jack under the suspension arm and raise the arm so that the entire load is on the suspension spring.
7. Unscrew the lower shock absorber mount (Berlin body, in the photo) or remove the shock absorber (combi body).
8. Unscrew the bolts securing the rear axle beam to the body on the corresponding side after bending back the safety gasket and unscrewing the bolt securing the metal-rubber bushing (8, see Fig. Rear suspension), as well as two bolts securing the support of this bushing to the body.
9. Carefully lower the lever down.
10. Remove the suspension spring together with the rubber support cup.
11. Remove the lever from the rear axle beam and remove the lever.
Installation
1. Attach the suspension arm to the rear axle beam without final tightening.
2. Install the spring together with the rubber support cup on the suspension arm shoulder.
3. Raise the jack to place the spring in the appropriate position.
Attention! In cars with a station wagon body, a shock absorber should be installed simultaneously with the spring.
4. Attach the metal-rubber bushing of the rear axle beam to the body, tightening its mounting bolts to the appropriate torques.
5. Install the lower shock absorber mount (in cars with a station wagon body) and the brake hose on the holder under the body floor and secure it.
6. Remove the jack.
7. Install the complete half shaft with the wheel hub. Attach the wheel hub to the suspension arm with four new bolts, tightening them to the appropriate torque.
8. Install the plastic cover of the outer drive joint of the axle shaft from the inside of the supporting brake shield.
9. Install the brake drum.
10. Install the wheel, tighten the wheel nuts, lower the vehicle and tighten the wheel nuts to the appropriate torque.
11. Move the suspension arm several times and tighten the arm connections to the rear axle beam to the appropriate torque.
