Removal and installation of drive axle shafts

Withdrawal



1. Raise the vehicle and remove the rear wheel on the appropriate side.

2. Remove brake drum.



3. Unscrew the fastening nut and remove the hub flange using a suitable puller.

4. Unscrew the nuts securing the wheel hub to the rear suspension arm.

5. Remove the wheel hub and disconnect the bearing brake shield.

6. Attach the rear brake shield with two bolts to the rear suspension arm.

7. Remove half shaft.

Attention! The three-arm hinges of the semi-axis cannot be rotated one relative to the other at an angle of more than 13°, as this disrupts their performance.


Installation



1. Insert the end of the axle shaft into the splined hole of the differential box.

2. Attach the wheel hub and brake shield to the rear suspension arm.

3. Insert four mounting bolts, hinge cover and new cover fastening clamps.

4. Install the wheel hub flange and tighten the hub nut without final tightening.

5. Install the brake drum and rear wheel.

6. Lower the vehicle and tighten the rear wheel hub nut and the wheel bolt nuts to the appropriate torque.
