Removal and installation of the electric motor of a cleaner of back glass

Withdrawal



Moisten the rear window glass with water.

Operate the windshield wiper for about one minute and turn it off using the switch. As a result of this, the wiper blade will stop in its original position.

Mark the original position of the wiper blade on the glass with adhesive tape. To do this, stick a strip of adhesive tape on the glass directly next to the wiper blade. When installing the wiper arm, it is put on the pins of the support in a position where the brush is located directly next to the strip of adhesive tape.

Disconnect ground wire (-) battery.

Caution: Disconnecting the battery will erase the contents of the electronic memories, such as engine trouble codes or radio codes. Before switching off, also read the instructions in chapter "Removing and installing the battery".




Remove the wiper arm. To do this, fold back the plastic cap -C-.

Loosen securing nut -D- by approx. 2 turns.

Raise the lever from the glass (position -A) and flip up (position -B-). Swinging the lever to the sides -arrows-, move it from the support cone. Use a HAZET 1966-5 impact screwdriver to move the securely seated lever.


Lower the wiper arm back onto the window glass. Unscrew the nut from the support and remove the lever.

Open the rear door and unscrew the screws securing its lining. Remove cover.



Remove 3 bolts -arrows- for wiper motor. Disconnect the multi-pin connector of the motor and remove it together with the holder.

Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the motor to the holder.

Installation



Attention: Before installation, check that the motor is in its original position. To do this, briefly connect the multi-pin connector and connect the battery earth cable. Run the motor for a short time and turn off the wiper switch to bring the motor to its original position.


Attach the electric motor to the holder, screw in and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.

Attach the electric motor with the holder to the rear door and tighten the mounting bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.

Connect the multi-pin plug connector of the motor.

Attach and secure rear door trim.

Install the wiper arm. To do this, align the lever with the strip of adhesive tape on the glass and push it onto the support.

Install spring washer and tighten lever with nut to 10 Nm.


Connect ground wire to battery (-).

If available, set the clock and enter the anti-theft code for the radio.

Moisten the rear window glass with water. Turn on the wiper and check its operation, if necessary, replace the wiper blade.

Attention: After checking the operation of the wiper on wet glass, tighten the arm fastening nut to a torque of 10 Nm.
