Removal
Wet the windshield with water. Run the wiper for about a minute and turn it off using the switch. As a result, the wiper blades will stop in their original position.
Mark the original position of the wiper blades on the windshield using adhesive tape. To do this, stick a strip of adhesive tape on the glass directly next to the wiper blade. When installing, the wiper arm is placed on the support pins in a position where the blade is located directly next to the strip of adhesive tape.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Caution: When the battery is disconnected, the contents of electronic memory devices, such as engine fault codes or radio codes, are erased. Before disconnecting, also read the instructions in the chapter "Removal and installation the battery".
Remove the windshield wiper arms. To do this, fold back the plastic caps "C".
Loosen the mounting nuts "D" by approximately 2 turns.
Lift the levers off the glass (position "A") and fold them upwards (position "B"). By rocking the levers in the direction of the "arrow", move them off the support cones. Move the firmly seated levers using the HAZET 1966-5 impact screwdriver.
Lower the wiper arms back onto the windshield. Unscrew the hex nuts from the supports and remove the arms.
Remove the fairing grille, see p. 131/140.
Unscrew the bolts "arrows" securing the windshield wiper rods.
Disconnect the multi-pin plug connector of the windshield wiper motor and remove the rods as a complete set.
Use an open-end wrench to press the rods off the spherical heads.
Installation
Place the rods on the corresponding spherical heads and secure with pliers.
Install the rods in the mounting position, screw in and tighten the mounting bolts.
Connect the multi-pin plug connector.
Install the fairing grille, see p. 131/140.
Install the windshield wiper arms. To do this, align the arms with the strips of adhesive tape on the glass and place them on the supports.
Place the spring washers and tighten the levers with nuts to a torque of 10 Nm.
Connect the ground (-) cable to the battery.
If available, set the clock and enter the radio theft protection code.
Wet the windshield with water. Turn on the windshield wipers and check their operation, replace the windshield wiper blades if necessary.
Attention: After checking the operation of the windscreen wipers at 1st and 2nd speed on wet glass, tighten the lever mounting nuts to a torque of 10 Nm.
