Note: To check the wiper blade angle, you will need a special tool HAZET 4051-1 or FORD 32-006.
Examination
Bring the windshield wiper lever to its original position. To do this, wet the windshield with water, turn on the windshield wiper for a short time and turn it off using the switch.
Remove the wiper blade, see p. 183.
Insert windshield wiper arm "2" into the special tool and secure with bolt "3".
Carefully place the lever with the tool on the glass. Make sure that all three support points of the tool are in contact with the glass.
Read the windshield wiper arm angle value from the instrument scale.
The prescribed tilt angle value for the windshield wiper arm is:
- at the windshield (all car models): -3°
- for the rear window of the TURNER model: -4°
- at the rear window of the model with a sloping rear body: -7°
Adjustment
If the measured value of the tilt angle does not correspond to the prescribed value, carefully turn the tool with the wrench "1" until the prescribed value is shown on the scale.
Caution: When turning, lift the tool with the lever off the glass to avoid damaging the glass.
Remove the tool from the windshield wiper arm, put it back on and lock it. Check the tilt angle again, and repeat the adjustment if necessary. Repeat this process until the prescribed tilt angle of the arm is reached.
Adjustment tool remove and install the wiper blade.
Wet the windshield with water and operate the windshield wipers. Check the windshield wipers for rattling, repeat the adjustment process if necessary.
