Entering the radio code (Scorpio 2)

            0

Applies only to serially installed radio with coding.

Radio coding against theft prevents unauthorized use of the device when the power supply circuit is interrupted. The power supply circuit is interrupted, for example, when the battery is disconnected, when the radio is removed, or when the power supply circuit fuse burns out.

Before disconnecting the battery or before removing the radio, make sure you have the radio code. If the code is not known, the radio can only be reconnected by a specialized workshop of the radio manufacturer.

The individual code number is provided in the radio operating manual. This code should not be stored in the vehicle.

Removal the electronic lock

Connect the power supply, turn on the radio. The message "CODE----" or "COdE" appears on the radio display.

Use buttons 1-4 on the radio panel to enter the secret code number. To enter the first digit of the code, button 1 must be pressed and released until the correct digit appears on the display in the position of the first stroke. Button 2 must be pressed and released until the correct digit also appears on the display in the position of the second stroke. The remaining digits of the secret code are entered in a similar manner.

When the display shows the correct code number instead of the dashes, the code entry must be confirmed by pressing the fifth button on the radio panel. After this, the radio is ready for operation.

Note: If an incorrect code number is entered by mistake, the entire entry process can be repeated twice. If an incorrect code number is entered again, the radio is blocked for approximately 30 minutes and it cannot be connected. The display shows the message "WAIT 30M" and the time until the next opportunity to enter the code is displayed. After 30 minutes - the radio must be switched on - the electronic radio lock can be released again. This cycle is repeated for all other attempts. After the 10th attempt to enter an incorrect code number, the display shows the message "LOCK 10" or "LOCKED 10" and the radio is locked! It is no longer possible to connect the radio by entering the code and the radio must be sent to the factory to have the lock removed.

Note: In addition to the anti-theft code, the FORD radio models "5000", "6000" and "7000" can also remember the state registration number or chassis number of the car. Once entered, this code is remembered forever and is not erased, even if the battery is disconnected or if the original number is changed for some reason.
