Removal and installation of the radio receiver

            0

The factory-installed radio is equipped with a rail mount that allows for quick installation and removal. First of all, this can be done immediately only with the help of a special tool -A-, which is included with the purchase of the radio or which can be purchased from a specialized store.

Withdrawal

Switch off the ignition.

Disconnect the ground wire with the ignition off (-) battery.

Caution: Disconnecting the battery will erase the contents of the radio and electronic storage devices. A radio with anti-theft coding is installed as standard. This prevents unauthorized operation of the device when the power supply circuit is interrupted. Opening of the power supply circuit occurs, for example, when the battery is disconnected, when the radio is removed, or when the fuse of the power supply circuit blows.

Before disconnecting the battery or before removing the radio, make sure you have the radio code in your possession. If the code is not known, the radio can only be reconnected by a specialist workshop of the radio manufacturer.

The individual code number can be found in the radio manual. This code must not be stored in the vehicle.

Insert both pullers into the holes on the left and right of the front plate as shown in the figure. (The picture shows a radio not for FORD SCORPIO).

Pull the radio out evenly, slightly pressing the pullers outwards -1- from the center of the radio, and pulling the radio out of the instrument panel in the direction of the arrows -2-.

Disconnect multi-pin connectors and radio aerial connector -left arrow-.

Attention: Pull only on the plug, not on the wires.

If you need to install a new radio, press the plastic holder from the old radio and install it on the new radio.

Installation

Remove the pullers from the removed radio. To do this, use a small screwdriver to press the retaining heals inward.

Connect the multi-pin connectors and the antenna connector on the back of the radio.

Place the plastic holder -4- on the rail -3- and press the radio into the recess in the instrument panel until it is secured by the retaining springs.

Connect ground wire to battery (-).

Turn on the radio and enter the anti-theft code.

Set clock.
