Removal and installation of a coal adsorber

Engine DOHC 2.0 dm3 with catalytic converter



Models up to July 1990



1. The carbon adsorber is located in the engine compartment on the right mudguard next to the suspension strut mount.

2. Remove ground wire from battery.

3. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the expansion tank and remove the tank from the carbon adsorber.

4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the top of the carbon adsorber.

5. Unscrew the fastening bolt, remove the carbon adsorber from the engine compartment.

6. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Models since July 1990





7. Carbon adsorber (indicated by an arrow) located behind the right rear wheel, where it is mounted on the underside of the car body.

8. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands.

9. Remove ground wire from battery.

10. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the top of the carbon canister and unscrew the fastening screw.

11. Raise the carbon canister, unhook it from the mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.

12. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
