DOHC 2.0 dm³ engine with catalytic converter
Models before July 1990.
1. The carbon canister is located in the engine compartment on the right mudguard next to the suspension strut mount.
2. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
3. Unscrew the 2 expansion tank mounting screws and remove the tank from the carbon adsorber.
4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the top of the charcoal canister.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the carbon canister from the engine compartment.
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Models since July 1990.
7. The carbon canister (indicated by the arrow) is located behind the right rear wheel, where it is mounted on the underside of the vehicle body.
8. Raise the rear of the vehicle and secure it on stands.
9. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
10. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the top of the carbon canister and unscrew the mounting screw.
11. Lift the carbon canister, unhook it from the mounting bracket and remove it from the vehicle.
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
