Replacing the rear suspension beam

It is more convenient to remove the rear suspension beam on a lift. If it is not possible to install the car on a lift, raise the rear of the car by placing a jack under the beam. Then place supports under the jack sockets on the vehicle body.

Note. It is necessary to remove the rear suspension beam with assistants who will hold and lower the beam.

You will need: keys «at 15», «at 18», end head «at 15», extension.

1. Remove rear wheels.

Attention! Loosen and tighten the wheel bolts only with the vehicle on the ground. Bolt tightening torque 90 Nm (9 kgf·m).

2. Remove the brake pipes from the rear suspension beam (see «Replacement of brake pipes»).

Note. To unscrew the tube nuts, use special wrenches, since the nuts are heavily tightened and usually corroded, as a result of which, when using ordinary wrenches, the edges of the nuts are crushed.

3. Remove rear suspension springs (see «Replacing the rear suspension spring»).



4. Remove the parking brake cables from the holders on the rear suspension beam (see «Replacing the parking brake cables»).



5. Turn out on three bolts of fastening of arms of a beam of a back suspension bracket from each party …




6.... and remove the beam assembly with brackets.

7. Turn away nuts of bolts of fastening of a beam to arms, keeping bolts from turning by the second key, and remove arms.

8. Establish a beam of a back suspension bracket in an order, the return to removal. Bolts of fastening of a beam to arms finally tighten on the car standing on the ground.

9. After installing the beam, bleed the brake system (see ««Parking brake actuator adjustment»).
