Warning! Before raising the rear of the car, engage 1st gear and place chocks under the front wheels. After raising the rear, place reliable supports next to the jack.
Attention! Replace shock absorbers (left and right) in pairs.
Caution: Do not remove both shock absorbers simultaneously with the rear of the vehicle raised, as lowering the rear suspension beam below the permissible limit may cause damage to the brake system pipes and hoses.
1. Remove the rear mudguards (see "Removal and installation wheel mudguards and fender liners").
2. Install the jack and slightly jack up the rear beam to relieve the load on the lower shock absorber mounting bolt.
3. While holding the bolt from turning, use the second wrench to unscrew the nut..
4. …and remove the shock absorber eye from the lower mount bracket.
5. Remove the two bolts securing the upper shock absorber mount support…
6. …and remove the shock absorber from the car.
7. Loosen the shock absorber rod mounting nut, holding the rod from turning, and remove the upper support of the rear shock absorber. Carefully inspect the upper support of the shock absorber - it should not show signs of aging. Otherwise, replace the support.
8. Install the shock absorber in the reverse order of removal.
