15.12.1. Removal and installation of the regulating electric motor

As already mentioned, this system is installed on order, it works in conjunction with ABS. Both systems use the same wheel speed sensors, hydraulic control unit and electronic control module, but this system has additional sensors and components.

The system works on the basis that the torque of the spinning wheel is transferred to the wheel with the best traction. This is ensured either by using an appropriate brake or by closing the throttle. The operation of the brake system is controlled by a hydraulic control unit, actuation of the throttle valve is carried out by means of a corresponding regulator, which is located between the accelerator pedal and the throttle body and is equipped with two cables that connect the accelerator pedal and the throttle valve. The regulator stretches the cable so that for each position of the accelerator pedal, if the system is operated, a reduced throttle angle is set.

The system is used in combination with brake and throttle control up to 50 km/h. At higher speeds, only throttle control works. A warning light in the instrument cluster informs the driver when the traction control system is on. As you already know, after the ignition is turned on, the hazard warning light is on for about 3 seconds and then goes out if the electronic components of the system are in order. If the system turns off by itself, the alarm lamp will remain on until the system is turned on again.

If a malfunction occurs in the system, the lamp continues to burn until the detected malfunction is eliminated.
