As already mentioned, this system is installed to order, it works together with ABS. Both systems use the same wheel speed sensors, hydraulic control unit and electronic control module, but this system has additional sensors and units.
The system works by transferring the torque of the slipping wheel to the wheel with better traction. This is achieved either by applying the appropriate brake or by closing the throttle valve. The brake system is controlled by a hydraulic control unit, the throttle valve is operated by a corresponding regulator, which is located between the accelerator pedal and the throttle body and is equipped with two cables that connect the accelerator pedal and the throttle valve. The regulator stretches the cable so that for each position of the accelerator pedal, if the system is in operation, a reduced throttle angle is set.
The system is used in combination with brake and throttle control up to a speed of 50 km/h. At higher speeds, only throttle control is active. A warning light in the instrument cluster informs the driver when the traction control system is activated. As you already know, the hazard warning lights are on for about 3 seconds after the ignition is turned on and then go out if the electronic components of the system are in order. If the system is switched off spontaneously, the hazard warning light will remain on until the system is switched on again.
If a fault occurs in the system, the lamp will remain on until the fault is corrected.
