Replacing the ABS sensor (rear wheels) (Mondeo 2)

            0

There are differences in the removal procedure depending on the installed brake mechanisms (disc and drum). Removing the sensor in the presence of a disc brake mechanism is carried out similarly to removing the sensor of the front wheels (see above). The scope of work for removing the sensor in the drum brake mechanisms of the rear wheels is somewhat greater, since it includes operations for removing the rear seat cushion.

Replace the sensor as follows:

- disconnect the battery;

- Raise the rear of the car on supports and remove the wheel;

- remove the rear seat cushions;

- disconnect the multi-pin connector of the sensor under the seat cushion;

- disconnect the multi-pin connector of the sensor under the seat cushion;

- unscrew the bolt from the inside of the brake support plate and remove the sensor from the hole (Fig. 275);

- release the wire from the mount.

Install in the reverse order of removal. Before installing, check the sensor mounting hole for damage, corrosion, or jagged edges. Install the wheel and check the toothed wheel for damage.
