Removing and installing the rear disc brake caliper (Mondeo 2)

Remove the brake caliper as follows:

- loosen the wheel nuts;

- Raise the rear of the car on supports and remove the wheel;

- release the car with the parking brake;

- disconnect the wear indicator wire (loosen the bolt, disconnect the connector);

- unscrew the brake hose from the brake pipe, close the ends properly to prevent contamination from entering;

- remove the brake pads as described in the previous subsection;

- remove the brake pads as described in the previous subsection;

- remove the parking brake cable from the lever and, as shown in Fig. 266, disconnect the caliper.

Install in the reverse order of removal. Tighten the caliper support mounting bolts to 41 N·m. Make sure that the brake hose does not rotate when connecting. Reinstall the protective caps on the bolts. Be sure to bleed the brake system.
