Anti-lock braking system (ABS)

            0

The anti-lock braking system consists of a conventional brake system with diagonally divided brake circuits and a control unit. The control unit includes a hydraulic module, a compressor, an ABS module with built-in relay and two pressure sensitive pressure reducing valves.

The signals necessary for the operation of the ABS come from sensors on the four wheels. The ABS module compares these signals with the limit values that are stored in its memory. If one or more wheels are blocked during braking, the module activates the corresponding valves and the braking force applied to the block in the corresponding cylinder is reduced.

After the wheels are unlocked, the ABS module activates the valves and the pressure in the brake cylinder rises, which again causes the wheels to lock.

This process is repeated several times within a second, depending on the condition of the road surface and the duration of braking. At a speed of less than 5 km / h, the ABS stops.
