- Raise the rear of the car on supports;

- remove the heat-insulating protection under the exhaust system (the middle part is secured in the place shown in Fig. 277, there are two other attachment points in front) and release the exhaust pipe from the fastening;
- hang the parking brake cable from the caliper, and if there is a drum brake mechanism, remove the brake shoes and hang the cable as described in the relevant section;
- release the cable from the rod and fastening to the body and remove it.
Install in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that the ends of the cables are correctly positioned in the balancer and that the outer cable bushings are shifted to the stop in the guides.
