Removal
1. Press the brake pedal four or five times to remove vacuum from the servo booster.
2. Pull the vacuum hose adapter out of the servo booster rubber bushing. If it is difficult to pull out, pry it under the flange with a screwdriver (see Fig. 17.2).

3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the connection on the intake manifold. To do this, press the connection sleeve to release the stoppers and slowly remove the sleeve.
4. If the hose or its fastening elements are damaged or faulty, the hose must be replaced.
Examination
5. Check the check valve for damage and replace it if necessary. To check the valve, blow through the hose in both directions. It should only allow air to flow in the direction from the servo to the intake manifold.
Installation
6. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. Install the check valve with the appropriate side.
