Primary (front) cable

1. Remove the handbrake lever (paragraph 26).

2. Pull the sleeve out of the bottom and remove the cable from under the car.

Secondary (rear) cable

3. Chock the front wheels and engage first gear or select "R". Raise the rear of the car and place it on stands. Fully release the handbrake lever.

6. Disconnect the heat-insulating casing of the exhaust system from the bottom.

7. Unhook the appropriate cable from the equalizer bar.

8. On models with drum brakes, remove the appropriate brake pads (paragraph 6). Then remove the cable sheath from the rear shield. To do this, squeeze the three stops (with a spanner key) and push the rope inside (see fig. 27.8).

9. On models with disc brakes, unhook the cable end from the handbrake lever located on the caliper (see fig.27.9).

10. Release the stoppers that secure the cable sheath to the brackets located on the bottom. Then release the cable from the clamps and pull it out from under the car (see fig. 27.10, a, b).
