Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
2. Remove the lower heat shield of the catalytic converter.

3. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) connector.

4. Remove the HO2S sensor.

5. Disconnect the catalytic converter oxygen sensor connector.

6. Remove the catalytic converter monitoring oxygen sensor.

CAUTION: Excessive bending of the exhaust flexible pipe may cause damage to the flexible pipe, leading to malfunction.
Support the flexible exhaust pipe insert using a suitable tire.

8. Remove the flexible insert from the exhaust system.
- Discard the gaskets and nuts as they are no longer needed.

9. Remove the catalytic converter mounting nuts and discard them as no longer needed.

NOTE: Support the catalytic converter.
Remove the catalytic converter support bracket mounting bolts.

11. Remove the catalytic converter.
12. Remove the catalytic converter upper heat shield and the oil pan heat shield.

Installation
1.
CAUTION: Never use sealant in front of the catalytic converter.
NOTE: Apply anti-seize lubricant to the catalytic converter studs.
NOTE: Install new nuts and gaskets.
Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
