Removal


1. Disconnect the catalytic converter. Discard the nuts.

2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

3. Remove the engine protection.

CAUTION: Excessive bending of the flexible exhaust pipe may cause damage resulting in failure of the exhaust system.


Support the flexible exhaust pipe with a support clamp or suitable cotter pin.

5. Detach the support bracket.

6. Remove the catalytic converter and flexible exhaust pipe.


  • Unscrew the flange nuts.
  • Discard the nuts.

7. Disconnect the catalytic converter. Discard the nuts.

Installation


1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
  • Use new nuts.
  • Apply anti-seize lubricant to the studs. The anti-seize lubricant must meet Ford specifications.
