Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
3. Remove the generator coupling.
- 1. Bolts for fastening the intermediate axle bearing.
- 2. Vibration damper mounting bolts.

4. Install the special tool.
- Remove the plug from the cylinder block and install the special tool.

NOTE: The engine should only be turned in the normal direction of crankshaft rotation.
Turn the engine to top dead center (TDC).
- Slowly turn the engine until the crankshaft stops.
6. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.

7. Remove the CKP sensor mounting bolt.

8. Remove the CKP sensor. Discard the CKP sensor as it is no longer needed.

Installation
NOTE: Install a new CKP sensor.

CAUTION: The tip of the CKP sensor must rest on the flywheel. Incorrect installation may result in damage to the CKP sensor.
NOTE: Make sure the CKP sensor housing is clean and free of foreign material.
Install the CKP sensor.

2. Install the CKP sensor mounting bolt.

3. Connect the CKP sensor plug connector.

4. Remove the special tool. Install the cylinder block plug.

5. Install the generator coupling.

6. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for additional information.
7. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Section 414-01 for additional information.
