Additional heater — disassembly and assembly (Focus 1)

Disassembly

1. Remove the water cooling jacket cover.



2. Remove the combustion chamber blower motor cover.



3. Disconnect the overheat sensor and temperature sensor from the water cooling jacket.

• Discard the O-rings.

4. Remove the electronic control unit and the blower motor cover.

• Disconnect the internal electrical connector.

5. Disconnect the cables from the auxiliary heater electrical connector (flame sensor shown removed for clarity).



6. Disconnect the glow plug wire from the glow plug.



7. Remove the glow plug.



8. Remove the adapter.





9. Remove the flame sensor.



10. Remove the combustion chamber blower motor. Discard the gasket.



11. Remove the combustion chamber. Discard the gasket.



12. Using a suitable screwdriver, remove the heat exchanger.

• Discard the O-ring.

Assembly

1.

NOTE: Install new O-rings and gaskets.

Note: Before installing, submerge the O - rings in the cooling liquid.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
