Inspection and verification


1. Check the customer's complaint.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of electrical damage.

Electrical factors:

3. If an obvious cause of a problem that you identified or described by the customer is found, eliminate it before proceeding with further actions (if it is possible).

4. If the cause is not visually obvious, refer to the Parking Assist Module Reinstallation Procedure.

Parking Assist Module Reinstallation Procedure


1. Turn the ignition key to position 0.

2. Detach the safety insert of the parking aid module.

3. Turn the ignition key to position II.

4. Select reverse gear, then deselect reverse gear.

5. Turn the ignition key to position 0.

6. Connect the safety plug of the parking aid module.

7. Check the correct operation of the system. If the problem persists, refer to the self-diagnosis mode.

Self-diagnosis mode


1. To enter the parking aid module self-test mode, turn the ignition key to position 0, make sure the gear is in neutral, and remove the parking aid module safety plug. For more information, refer to the section For more information, refer to the Description and principles of operation available in this section.

2. Make sure there are no obstacles within 2 meters of the rear of the vehicle.


3. Turn the ignition key to position II and select reverse gear.

4. Self-diagnosis mode is indicated by a sequence consisting of two red LEDs turning on and a beep from the display unit and parking aid module speaker for three seconds with a pause of one second.

5. If a fault is detected in the parking aid sensor, the parking aid module indicates this by turning on the LED and the sequence of beeps from the display unit and the parking aid speaker.

6. If a malfunction is detected in several sensors of the parking assistance system, after the first sequence, a second sequence is issued.

7. To exit the self-diagnostic mode, turn the ignition key to position 0 and install the safety insert of the parking aid module.

8. If the complaint persists after exiting the Self-Diagnostic Mode, refer to the Symptom Table.
