Acceleration sensor — removal and installation

Removal

1. Remove the right front seat. For additional information, refer to Section 501-10.

2. Remove the door sill trim panel. Refer to Section 501-05 for additional information.

3. Remove the B-pillar trim panel. Refer to Section 501-05 for additional information.

NOTE: Before removal, make sure the rear door sill trim panel is separated from the lower B-pillar trim panel.

Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.



5. Partially detach the mat.



6. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor and accelerometer assembly from the floor panel



7. Disconnect the accelerometer plug.



8. Remove the accelerometer. Remove the accelerometer bracket.

Installation

WARNING: Do not use a damaged accelerometer. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

WARNING: Make sure the accelerometer is positioned correctly. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

CAUTION: The accelerometer will be damaged if dropped.

When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
