Removal
Cars with rear disc brakes
1. Remove the rear wheel hub. Refer to Section 204-02 for additional information.
Cars with rear drum brakes
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. For additional information, refer to Section 204-04.

NOTE: If the dust cap is damaged during removal, it must be replaced with a new one during installation.
Remove the dust cap.

4. Release the parking brake.
5. Remove the brake drum.
- 1. Remove the hub mounting nut.
- 2.Remove the brake drum.

Brake fluid leak.
6. Remove the wheel speed sensor pulse ring (drum brake shown, disc brake similar). Discard the wheel speed sensor pulse ring as it is no longer needed.

Installation
Secure the lower control arm (right side shown).

CAUTION: Make sure the wheel speed sensor pulse ring is not broken, damaged or contains metal fragments.
CAUTION: To avoid damaging the surface of the wheel speed sensor pulse ring, protect it with a suitable flat block of non-ferrite material.
CAUTION: Make sure the brake drum is properly supported and do not allow it to rest on the wheel studs.
CAUTION: When installing the wheel speed sensor impulse ring, press it in slowly and straight until it is fully seated.
CAUTION: Do not exceed the maximum force of 10 kN.
Using a suitable hydraulic press, install the new wheel speed sensor ring.

2. Install the rear wheel hub. Refer to Section 204-02 for additional information.
Cars with rear drum brakes

CAUTION: To prevent bearing damage, turn the drum in the opposite direction when tightening the hub nut.
Install the brake drum.

4. Install the dust cap.

5. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Section 204-04 for additional information.
