Withdrawal
All cars
1. Remove pillar trim panels "A". For more information, refer to the A-pillar Trim Panel chapter found in this section.
2. Disconnect and unfasten the interior lighting harness and washer tube from the pillar "A".
3. Remove pillar trim panels "WITH". For more information, refer to the C-Pillar Trim Panel chapter found in this section.
4. Remove sun visors.
5. Remove the sun visor mounting clips.
Vehicles without a sliding sunroof
6. Disconnect a lamp of illumination of salon.
7. Disconnect electric sockets and remove a lamp of illumination of salon.
8. Remove a frame of a lamp of illumination of salon.
Vehicles with a mechanical sunroof.
9. Using a suitable screwdriver, disconnect the interior lighting lamp from the overhead console.
10. Disconnect electric sockets and remove a lamp of illumination of salon.
11. Remove the sunroof adjuster knob.
12. Remove the overhead console.

CAUTION: To avoid damage, the overhead console trim panel may only be pulled down far enough to disengage the mounting clips.
Detach the overhead console trim panel from the overhead console.
- 1. Using a suitable screwdriver, disconnect the front mounting clips.
- 2. Pull the overhead console trim panel down to release the side mounting clips.
- 3. Push the overhead console trim panel forward to disengage the rear mounting clips.
14. Remove the overhead console trim panel.
- Disconnect the sunroof power switch electrical connector.
15. Using a suitable screwdriver, disconnect the interior lighting lamp from the overhead console.
16. Disconnect electric sockets and remove a lamp of illumination of salon.
17. Disconnect the overhead console from the roof panel.
- Turn out screws of fastening.
18. Remove the overhead console.
- 1. Disconnect the front mounting clips.
- 2. Disconnect the side mounting clips.
- 3. Push the overhead console forward to disengage the rear mounting clips.
Vehicles with sliding sunroof
19. Remove the sunroof seal.
Vehicles manufactured before 03/2000
20. Remove the passenger handrails.
- 1. Open the screw covers.
- 2. Turn out screws of fastening.
Vehicles manufactured since 03/2000
21. Open the covers on the passenger handrails.
22. Using a suitable 6mm flathead screwdriver, remove the passenger handrails.
- Turn the screwdriver 90 degrees to release the mounting clips.
4-door and 5-door variants and "station wagon"
23. Remove panels of finishing of a covering of a ceiling.
24. Disconnect a back lamp of illumination of salon.
25. Disconnect electric sockets and remove a back lamp of illumination of salon.
"station wagon"
26. Remove rack trim panels "D".

CAUTION: Remove the trim panel at a 45 degree angle to avoid damaging the trim panel clips.
Remove the headlining trim panels.
All cars
28. Remove the rear headlining mounting clips.
29. Disconnect the rear washer tube from the headlining.
3-door, 5-door and "station wagon"
30. Remove the ceiling lining through the rear tailgate opening.
4-door variant

NOTE: Tilt the back of the passenger seat to make it easier to remove the headlining.
Remove the headlining through the passenger door opening.
Installation
1. To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
