PINPOINT TEST A: POWER SEAT DOES NOT WORK

A1: CHECK VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO POWER SEAT SWITCH

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Disconnect the Power Seat Switch inoperative.

3 Drive the ON position.

4 Measure the voltage between:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- pin 2 C715 power seat switch, circuit 29-AH6 (orange/yellow), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured before 12/1999.

- pin 2 C716 power seat switch, circuit 29-AH14 (orange/yellow), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured since 01/2000.

- pin 2 C715 power seat switch, circuit 29-AH6 (orange/yellow), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the voltage over 10 V?

Yes

Go to A2.

No

REPAIR Circuit 29-AH6 (orange/yellow) or electrical circuit 29-AH14 (orange/yellow). CHECK the system is working properly.

A2: INSPECT POWER SEAT SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Measure the resistance between:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- pin 3 C715 of the power seat switch, circuit 31-AH6 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured before 12/1999.

- pin 3 C716 of the power seat switch, circuit 31-AH14 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured since 01/2000.

- pin 3 C715 of the power seat switch, circuit 31-AH6 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

Go to A3.

No

REPAIR Circuit 31-AH6 (black) or electrical circuit 31-AH14 (black). CHECK the system is working properly.

A3: CHECK LOWER CIRCUIT VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO ELECTRIC SEAT HEIGHT ADJUST MOTOR

1 Connect the inoperative power seat switch.

2 Disconnect the Power Seat Height Adjust Motor.

3 Drive the ON position.

4 Push the power seat switch to the DOWN position.

5 Measure the voltage between:

NOTE:Power Driver Seat - LHD

- pin 1 C761 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 32-AH10 (white/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured before 12/1999.

- pin 1 C760 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 32-AH18 (white/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured since 01/2000.

- pin 1 C761 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 32-AH10 (white/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the voltage over 10 V?

Yes

Go to A4.

No

REPAIR Circuit 32-AH10 (white/black) or electrical circuit 32-AH18 (white/black). CHECK the system is working properly.

A4: CHECK LIFT CIRCUIT VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO ELECTRIC SEAT HEIGHT ADJUST MOTOR

1 Push the power seat switch to the UP position.

2 Measure the voltage between:

NOTE:Power Driver Seat - LHD

- pin 2 C761 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 33-AH10 (yellow/black), from the wiring side, and "weight"

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured before 12/1999.

- pin 2 C760 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 33-AH18 (yellow/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD. - Vehicles manufactured since 01/2000.

- pin 2 C761 electric seat height adjustment motor, circuit 33-AH10 (yellow/black), from the wiring side, and "weight"

• Is the voltage over 10 V?

Yes

INSTALL a new power seat height adjustment motor. CHECK the system is working properly.

No

REPAIR Circuit 33-AH10 (yellow/black) or electrical circuit 33-AH18 (yellow/black). CHECK the system is working properly.



PINPOINT TEST B: SEAT HEATING DOES NOT WORK

B1: CHECK THE SWITCH VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO THE HEATED SEAT SWITCH

1 Drive the ON position.

2 Press the seat heating switch.

• Is the seat heating switch LED on?

Yes

Go to B2.

No

Go to B6.

B2: CHECK THE SWITCH VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO HEATED SEAT OUT OF WORK MATS

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Detach the non-functioning heated seat.

3 Drive the ON position.

4 Press the seat heating switch.

5 Measure the voltage between:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 1 C30 heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC8 (green/red), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 1 C31 heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC111 (green/white), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 1 C31 heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC11 (green/white), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 1 C30 heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC8 (green/red), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the voltage over 10 V?

Yes

Go to B3.

No

REPAIR circuit 15S-HC8 (green/red) or electrical circuit 15S-HC11 (green/white). CHECK the system is working properly.

B3: CHECK SEAT HEATER CUSHION CARPET GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Measure the resistance between:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C30 of the non-functioning heated seat back, circuit 31-HC8 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD.

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 31-HC11 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 31-HC11 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD.

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C30 of the non-functioning heated seat back, circuit 31-HC8 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

Go to B4.

No

REPAIR Circuit 31-HC8 (black) or electrical circuit 31-HC11 (black). CHECK the system is working properly.

B4: INSPECT HEATER SEAT CUSHION CARPET CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

1 Measure the resistance of the heating elements:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- measure the voltage between pin 1 C30 of the inoperative heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC8 (green/red), on the side of the element, and pin 2 C30 seat cushion inoperative with heating, electrical circuit 15S-HC7 (green/blue), from the side of the element.

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD.

- measure the voltage between pin 1 C31 of the inoperative heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC11 (green/white), on the side of the element, and pin 2 C31 of the non-functional heated seat cushion, electrical circuit 15S-HC10 (green/orange), from the side of the element.

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- measure the voltage between pin 1 C31 of the inoperative heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC11 (green/white), on the side of the element, and pin 2 C31 of the non-functional heated seat cushion, electrical circuit 15S-H11 (green/orange), from the side of the element.

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD.

- measure the voltage between pin 1 30 of the inoperative heated seat cushion, circuit 15S-HC8 (green/red), on the side of the element, and pin 2 C30 seat cushion inoperative with heating, electrical circuit 15S-HC7 (green/blue), from the side of the element.

• Resistance is 9 ohms (resistance of one heater mat)?

Yes

Go to B5.

No

INSTALL a new heater mat. CHECK the system is working properly.

B5: INSPECT SEAT BACK HEATER MAT CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

1 Measure the resistance of the heater elements between:

NOTE:Power driver's seat - LHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 3 C30 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 15S-HC7 (green/blue), on the side of the element, and pin 4 C30 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, electrical circuit 31-HC8 (black), from the side of the element.

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 3 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 15S-HC10 (green/orange), on the side of the element, and pin 4 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, electrical circuit 31-HC11 (black), from the side of the element.

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 3 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 15S-HC10 (green/orange), on the side of the element, and pin 4 C31 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, electrical circuit 31-HC11 (black), from the side of the element.

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD.

- Measure the voltage between pin 3 C30 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, circuit 15S-HC7 (green/blue), on the side of the element, and pin 4 C30 of the backrest of the inoperative heated seat, electrical circuit 31-HC8 (black), from the side of the element.

• Resistance is 9 ohms (resistance of one heater mat)?

Yes

REPAIR circuit 15S-HC7 (green/blue) or electrical circuit 15S-HC10 (green/orange). CHECK the system is working properly.

No

INSTALL a new heater mat. CHECK the system is working properly.

B6: CHECK THE IGNITION VOLTAGE SUPPLIED TO THE HEATED SEAT SWITCH

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Disconnect the inoperative seat heating switch.

3 Drive the ON position.

4 Measure the voltage between:

NOTE:Power Driver Seat - LHD

- measure the voltage between pin 2 C694 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 15-HC6 (green/yellow), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD

- measure the voltage between pin 2 C695 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 15-HC9 (green/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- measure the voltage between pin 2 C695 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 15-HC9 (green/black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD

- measure the voltage between pin 2 C694 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 15-HC6 (green/yellow), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the voltage over 10 V?

Yes

Go to B7.

No

REPAIR Circuit 15-HC6 (green/yellow) or electrical circuit 15-HC9 (green/black). CHECK the system is working properly.

B7: INSPECT HEATED SEAT SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

1 Enter the OFF position.

2 Measure the resistance between:

NOTE:Power Driver Seat - LHD

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C694 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 31-LH29 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - LHD

- Measure the resistance between pin 4 C695 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 31-LH43 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE:Power driver's seat - RHD.

- measure the resistance between pin 4 C695 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 31-LH43 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

NOTE: Power Passenger Seat - RHD

- Measure the resistance between pin 4 C694 of the inoperative seat heating switch, circuit 31-LH29 (black), from the wiring side, and "weight".

• Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes

CHECK the legitimacy of the customer's complaint.

No

REPAIR circuit 31-LH29 (black) or electrical circuit 31-LH43 (black). CHECK the system is working properly.
