The Focus features a 4-way power driver's seat. Lumbar adjustment is standard on luxury seats and is optional in some markets. Power height adjustment for the driver's seat is optional in some markets. The passenger seat is a 2-way power seat that includes an automatic CD changer for the audio system (if equipped).

Side airbags are optional equipment on vehicles equipped with driver and passenger front airbags. For additional information, refer to Section 501-20A/501-20B.

The rear seats feature a 60/40 split design, with the rear seatback (60% section) having an integrated seat belt retractor in 3-door, 5-door and station wagon variants.

Operating principles

The Focus is optionally equipped (depending on specification) with a power driver's seat. The seat is controlled by a two-way switch that operates the height adjustment of the power seat.

Seats with electric height adjustment retain mechanical adjustment elements. A switch, moving in two directions, controls the operation of one electric motor, providing movement in two directions, which, depending on the position of the switch, provides the seat up or down by the electric motor through several mechanical lever mechanisms.
