Dashboard — removal and installation

General Equipment: One M6 x 100mm bolt.

Withdrawal

All cars

WARNING: Always wear safety goggles when working on a vehicle equipped with airbags and when working on the airbag module. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery. See Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Disconnect the bottom section of the instrument panel.

• 1. Remove the screws.
• 2. Disconnect the clip.

3. Remove the lower section of the instrument panel.

• Disconnect the data link electrical connector.

4. Remove the top casing of a steering column.

• Disconnect clamps (one on each side), using a thin screwdriver.

5. Disconnect the audio unit control switch (in the presence of).

• 1. Disconnect the clamp using a thin screwdriver.
• 2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

6. Remove the lower casing of a steering column.

• 1. Release the steering column lock lever.
• 2. Remove the screws.

7. Disconnect and lower a steering column.

• Remove and discard nylon nuts.
• Remove the hex bolt.

8. Remove the instrument panel. See Section 413-01 for more information.


9. Remove the audio block. See Section 415-01 for more information.

10. Remove the glove box.



11. Remove the passenger airbag module. See Section 501-20A / 501-20B for more information.

12. Disconnect the decorative panel of the climate control system and the audio unit.

• 1. Remove the screws.
• 2. Disconnect the clips.

13. Remove the decorative panel of the microclimate control system and the audio unit.

• Disconnect electrical connectors.
• Disconnect the climate control cables.

14. Remove the ashtray.


15. Remove the heater body panel.

• Remove the screws (left side shown, right side similar).

Cars with a cell phone

16. Disconnect the cell phone handset holder.



All cars

17. Disconnect the front of the center console.

• Remove the screws (one on each side).

18. Remove the ashtray from the rear of the center console.




19. Disconnect the rear of the center console.



20. Move the center console back.

21. Remove the top clips of fastening of the panel of devices.

• 1. Install the M6 x 100mm bolt.
• 2. Using a suitable tool, remove the mounting clips.

22. Remove side panels of finishing of the panel of devices.



23. Turn out lateral bolts of the panel of devices (left side shown, same for right side).



24. Disconnect the instrument panel.

• Turn out bolts.
• Disconnect the deicer lines.
• Disconnect the cable clamps.

25. Remove the instrument panel.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
