Removal
All cars
1. Move the automatic transmission gear selector lever in the transaxle to the "N" position.
2. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.
Cars with cell phone
3. Disconnect the cell phone handset holder from the floor console.
All cars
4. Remove the front floor console mounting screws on both sides.
- Remove the rubber mat from the cup holder.
Vehicles with traction control system
5. Disconnect the automatic transmission gear selector lever trim panel from the floor console.
- Disconnect the mounting clamps.
6. Remove the automatic transmission gear selector lever trim panel in the transaxle block.
- Disconnect the traction control system electrical connector.
Cars with heated seats
7. Disconnect the automatic transmission gear selector lever trim panel from the floor console.
- Disconnect the mounting clamps.
8. Remove the automatic transmission gear selector lever trim panel in the transaxle block.
- Disconnect the seat heating electrical connector(s).
All cars
9. Remove the insert from the rear of the floor console.
10. Remove the rear floor console mounting nut.
11. Raise the parking brake lever all the way and remove the boot.
Cars with cell phone
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the cell phone.
- Raise the floor console to access the electrical connectors.
All cars
13. Remove the floor console.
14. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Section 414-01 for additional information.
15. Move the automatic transmission gear selection lever in the block with the drive axle to the "P" position.
Installation
1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
