Automatic transmission diagnostics

            0

Note, due to the complexity of the automatic transmission assembly, it is difficult to correctly diagnose and fix a breakdown. If any problem occurs that is not listed below, the vehicle should be inspected by a professional mechanic.

38. Difficulties with switching the mechanism

1. Chapter 7 dedicated to checking and installing automatic transmission shifters. If the rods are installed incorrectly, then:
  • in gears, the engine starts differently than in "parking lot" or "neutral"
  • indicator indicating movement to gear is different under the same conditions
  • car is in gear "parking"

2. Refer to chapter 7, check the ligaments and traction.

39. Downshift does not turn on when the gas pedal is pressed all the way

IN chapter 7 consider adjusting the throttle cable to ensure that downshifts are engaged.

40. Gears skipping, starting abruptly, making a lot of noise, or not shifting into forward or reverse gear

1. There are many possible causes for these problems, the main one being fluid level.

2. Check fluid level and condition as described in chapter 1 Adjust the level as required or change fluid and filter.

41. Fluid leak

1. The automatic transmission is filled with a thick red liquid. Do not confuse it with engine oil, which can spray the gearbox body with air current.

2. Most often, leakage occurs in:
  • pallet - tighten the bolts and slide the gasket so that it fits snugly (see chapter 7).
  • filler pipe - displace the rubber seal in the place where the nozzle is installed in the body.
  • gearbox piping - reinforce the connections of the pipes to the gearbox housing and / or move the pipes to the vent tube - the gearbox is overfilled and / or water has entered the liquid (see check in chapter 1).
  • speedometer connector - move the O-ring between the speedometer drive and the gearbox housing (chapter 7).
