16. The battery does not hold a charge (reduced power)
1. There is a defect in the alternator drive belt or it is not adjusted (chapter 1).
2. Low electrolyte level or battery is discharged (chapter 5).
3. The battery terminals are loose or corroded (chapter 5).
4. The generator does not provide the required charge (chapter 5).
5. The wires in the charging unit are loose, broken, or not connected (chapter 5).
6. Short circuit in car wiring (see chapter 12 and wiring diagrams).

17. Ignition does not work
1. The generator or charging unit is faulty (chapter 5).
2. There is a defect in the generator drive belt or it is not adjusted (chapter 1).
