Floor console (cars after 10.2001, manual transmission) (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.

2. Remove the insert from the front of the floor console.



3. Remove the front floor console mounting screws.



4. Disconnect the gear shift boot from the floor console.



5. Disconnect the shift lever trim panel from the floor console.

• Disconnect the clamps.

6. Remove the gear shift lever trim panel.

• Disconnect the traction control system connector.
• Disconnect the seat heating plug(s) (if equipped).

7. Remove the insert from the rear of the floor console.



8. Unscrew the rear nut securing the floor console.



9. Raise the parking brake lever to the stop and detach the boot.





10. Disconnect the auxiliary power supply plug.



11. Remove the floor console.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
