Equipment for starting a cold diesel engine (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

The cold start equipment for a diesel engine plays the same role as the automatic starter for a petrol engine: both systems help a cold engine to start. But that is where the similarities end. The use of cold start equipment for a diesel engine depends on the prevailing temperature, but it does not, for example, reduce the air supply to the cylinders, but quickly shifts the injection moment to the "advance" position. Thanks to this, the atomized fuel has more time to ignite next to the compressed air and the pin glow plugs - the engine starts "more willingly and smoothly".

In addition, the diesel cold start equipment slightly increases the idle speed and provides additional heating for a certain time, depending on the engine temperature. This reduces direct injection engine noise, improves idle quality and reduces carbon emissions during the warm-up phase.
