Replacing rear shock absorbers (Focus Turnier 1)

Dismantling in 3-, 4-, 5-door models



Remove the trunk trim.

Unscrew the upper nut of the shock absorber. To do this, lock the pressure rod with a key with an internal Allen key.

Raise the vehicle securely on a level surface and remove the wheels.

Remove the lower mounting bolt (arrow).

Remove the shock absorber downwards.

Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt (arrow)

Dismantling at Turnier



Remove the heat shield (arrows) to gain access to the upper left bolt.

Unscrew the top bolt.

Remove the top bolt (arrow)

Remove the top bolt (arrow)




Remove the lower mounting bolt.

Remove the shock absorber downwards.

Installation (3-, 4-, 5-door models)



Only tighten the suspension bolts and nuts completely when the vehicle is standing on its wheels.

Slide the shock absorber into the dome from below.

Loosely tighten the bottom bolt with the washer.

Lower the car.

Screw on the top nut. To do this, lock the push rod with an Allen key.

Tighten all screw connections.

Install the trunk trim.

Montage (Turnier)



Same as described for 3, 4 and 5 door models.

Install the heat shield.
