Gear shift lever
The gear shift lever is located on the floor of the car and can be set to seven positions.
P – parking, R – reverse gear, N – neutral position, D – forward movement (automatic gear shift from 1st to 3rd and back), 2 – automatic shift of only the first two gears, 1 – movement only in 1st gear
Changing the lever position from "N" to "R" or "P" requires pressing it.
Movement under normal conditions
After starting the engine, press the brake pedal and move the gearshift lever to the "D" position. After releasing the brake pedal, the car will start moving forward. While driving, the gears are automatically shifted from 1st to 3rd and back, depending on the speed and the position of the accelerator pedal. Gear shifting also occurs automatically as the speed decreases.
Maintenance and adjustment
The automatic transmission oil level should be checked and topped up if necessary every 20,000 km at an authorized service station. The transmission control elements should also be lubricated. The oil level should be checked with the engine warmed up, idling, the gearshift lever set to the "P" position and the automatic transmission oil temperature at 85°C.
Checking and adjusting the automatic transmission should be performed every 40,000 km, and if the vehicle is used in difficult road conditions, accordingly more often, at an authorized service station.
Checking the oil level in the rear axle
The oil level in the rear axle should be checked and, if necessary, replenished every 20,000 km of vehicle mileage. The oil level should be at the level of the edge of the filler hole (N) and oil level control.
